Шкала магнитуды типа Рихтера измеряет выделение энергии землетрясения. Каждое увеличение на целое число означает примерно в 31,6 раза больше энергии.

Micro
Micro earthquakes, not felt by humans.

Minor
Minor earthquakes. Felt by few people.
Ощущается: Felt by people at rest, on upper floors of tall buildings.

Minor
Often felt, but rarely causes damage.
Ощущается: Felt by many indoors; hanging objects swing.

Light
Noticeable shaking of indoor objects. Rarely causes significant damage.
