QuakeFYI is NOT an emergency alert system. Do not rely on this website for real-time emergency notifications or life-safety decisions. In the event of an earthquake, follow official guidance from local emergency management agencies, such as FEMA, your country's national meteorological or geological agency, or local civil protection authorities.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using QuakeFYI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website.
2. Description of Service
QuakeFYI provides earthquake data visualization, historical seismic records, educational content, and interactive tools. The service aggregates publicly available data from institutions including the USGS, NOAA, and the GEM Foundation.
3. Data Accuracy
- Earthquake data may be preliminary and subject to revision by source agencies.
- Magnitudes, depths, and locations are estimates and may be updated as more data becomes available.
- Seismic risk scores and felt radius estimates are computed using simplified models and should not be used for engineering, insurance, or policy decisions.
- Data delays may occur between the time an earthquake happens and when it appears on QuakeFYI.
4. Limitation of Liability
QuakeFYI is provided on an 'as-is' and 'as-available' basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of any data or content. In no event shall QuakeFYI be liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this service.
5. Intellectual Property
The QuakeFYI name, logo, design, and original content are the property of QuakeFYI. Earthquake data is sourced from public agencies and remains subject to their respective terms of use. You may link to QuakeFYI content but may not reproduce it in bulk without permission.
6. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of QuakeFYI after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
